Waiting for the call

Keaton, soon to be Elder Moore, was more than a little excited about his mission call. Shortly after submitting his application, he began watching the mailbox . . .

Everyone asked him, "Where do you want to go??"

I always loved his response, "It's a mission, not a vacation. I'll serve anywhere!"

Missionaries do not select where they will go and try to prepare themselves to embrace any possiblity.
They may serve absolutely anywhere in the world!

It's hard to imagine the suspense unless you've lived it.

I must admit that South America seemed like a possibilty since Nolan served in Argentina and one of my brother's served in Ecuador.
I thought about California. We've had a lot of family serve in California. The eastern States also seemed like a fun place to go. . . so many places to consider. They would all be great destinations!

Isn't it the most beautiful mail truck you've ever seen??!! ;) It was a beautiful sight for my excited boy.

It also helps to have the best mail carrier in the world! We love Mrs. Crystal. Not because she delivered Keaton's mission call but because she is one of the most wonderful people we've ever met. She's really that fabulous! Sorry she can't deliver everyone's mail. She's ours.

Seriously, isn't she fabulous!? She even got out of the truck to personally deliver that beautiful white envelope and shake his hand.
I LOVE their smiles.

That envelope was caught in a death grip from the moment it touched his hands. He decided to open it when Nolan was available to Skype so he had a few hours to get familiar with his name and address in print.

We were SO excited to find out where he would be serving for two years!
